Northern York County Regional Police have arrested two individuals in connection with stealing a piece of construction equipment and using it to damage a park in North York borough.

Tylor A. Stough, 21, and a juvenile, both of North York, have been charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief, according to a news release.

Police allege the two individuals stole a Wirtgen W50 DCi milling machine, owned by Kinsley Construction, from North George Street and Eighth Avenue in the early morning hours of Oct. 6.

The machine was driven across the basketball court and ran over items, including park benches, trash cans and parking signs, at Kauffman Park at 350 E. Fifth Ave., the release states. The equipment became disabled in the grass.

The damage to the park is estimated at more than $15,000, and the milling machine is valued at more than $200,000, police said.

The two individuals did not give a reason for the theft during a police interview, the release states.
